Winners of the Business of the Year Award, Katie and Hugh Finlay from Mt Alexander Fruit Gardens, received $2000 in prize money. The business also won the Sustainability and Environment Award.

“It was tremendous to have our business recognised in this way as sustainability and the environment are so central to the ethos of our business,” Ms Finlay said.

“The awards evening was a great way to learn more about the positive activities of businesses in our region,” she said.

Ms Finlay congratulated the finalists and encouraged more businesses to enter the awards.

“We have found the whole process to be a fantastic opportunity to review our business and reflect on how it has evolved over the years.”

Mayor, Cr Henderson said the awards presentation was an inspiring evening for the local business community.

“I think every attendee would agree that Carolyn Cresswell from Carman’s Foods was a very motivating guest speaker and it was impressive to hear the compelling stories of award winners” Cr Henderson said.

“I would also like to extend thanks to our award partners, major sponsor Maldon and District Community Bank, Workspace Australia and The Midland Express.”

Mount Alexander Business Awards will be next held in 2017.
